Training Log - Week 4 of 28 - Saturday

** Via sister-in-law, was told that Buck will be staying in Houston for the next month. Sounds as though the treatment is getting more agressive. Email from Lisa on Tuesday said that his bloodwork showed that his "blasts" are up (meaning his body is producing cancel cells again).

Pray hard!

5:15am - Wake up
6:00am - 6.13 miles

Total mileage this week - 13.13 miles

The theory behind marathon training is this:

Shorter "bread and butter runs" during the week, long runs once a week. On the long runs each week the mileage gets bumped up a little bit. Next week, 7 miles on Saturday.

Saturday is long run day with the entire club. In addition to training for the marathon, I am coaching beginning and shorter distance (half marathon runners) on Saturday morning. This is how I started out five years ago.
