Unbelieveable Response
It was two days ago that I decided to run the Chevron Houston Marathon "for a reason" this year.
Through the marahton website (http://www.chevronhoustonmarathon.com/), I created a page on Active.com to raise money from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of my uncle, A.C. "Buck" Buchanan, who was diagnosed with chronic leukemia earlier this year.
Also, I wanted Buck to know that a lot of people care about him.
I set what I thought was lofty goal of $1000. Two days later, the amount raised is over $1100.
Wow!
Buck's wife, Aunt Lisa, said that a lot of eyes will be watching the progress of my training now that folks have laid out their money, for a good cause of course, to see me finish the race. That's why I created this blog.
Check this blog daily to see where I am at in my training and for news about Buck's progress in fighting the disease.
